Kootenay Ice 5 @ Lethbridge Hurricanes 4
C Mitch Fadden, LET: 2-1-3, +3, 0 PIM, *First Star*
Fadden scored the game’s first two goals but Lethbridge blew a 4-0 lead late. Fadden is 3-2-5 in 3 games to start the year.
Kelowna Rockets 6 @ Everett Silvertips 4
G Torrie Jung, KEL: Win, 31 saves on 35 shots
D Dane Crowley, EVT: 0-1-1, -2, 0 PIM
Kelowna was badly outshot, 35-21. Crowley had a power play assist in his 2007-2008 debut for Everett.
QMJHL
Lewiston MAINEiacs 2 @ Halifax Mooseheads 3
D Michael Ward, LEW: 0-1-1, E, 2 PIM, 1 SOG
Ward’s assist came on the power play. I watched the third period of this game on Teles, and Ward played significant minutes, including PP, PK, and was on the ice at the end of the game with the goalie pulled. He also had a good rush and two solid hits in the third. Several Q games appear to be available to view for free via www.lhjmq.qc.ca.
BCHL
Cowichan Valley Capitals 5 @ Victoria Grizzlies 2
W Justin Courtnall, VIC: 0-1-1, 0 PIM
Courtnall has one goal and three assists in seven games so far this season for the 1-3-1(ties)-2 (OTL) Grizzlies.

Seattle Thunderbirds 2 @ Kamloops Blazers 3 (OT)
G Riku Helenius, SEA: OTL, 24 saves on 27 shots
Game Notes: Helenius’s first regular season game in North America was looking strong as he had a shutout through the first half of the game, but the T-Birds couldn’t hold a 2-0 lead and fell in overtime, 3-2 in Kamloops. Helenius is wearing No. 30 for Seattle.
Lethbridge Hurricanes 2 @ Medicine Hat Tigers 4
C Mitch Fadden, LET: 0-1-1, +1, 0 PIM
Game Notes: With his secondary assist, Fadden helped Lethbridge to an early 2-1 lead but the Hurricanes couldn’t hang on and dropped the second of a home-and-home series with the Tigers. The Hurricanes won on Friday. Fadden has a goal and an assist in two games this year.
Red Line's Take on the Lightning's Draft Picks
Submitted by pete on June 25, 2007 - 19:03Remind me next year to order Red Line three weeks before draft day instead of two...
Anyway, looking through Red Line's draft guide there are a lot of positives for the Lightning coming out of this draft. Here's how they had the picks the Lightning took rated and, where given, the short blurb about each:
#30 Dana Tyrell: "Love his speed, smarts, and competitiveness."
#54 Luca Cunti: "It's a team game, Luca. It's not all about you."
#62 Alexander Killorn: "Blazing fast playmaker. Stock rising like gas prices."
#100 Mitch Fadden: "Dynamic scorer should've been taken last year."
#160 Matt Marshall: "Bull in a china shop, but has no hands or finesse."
#207 Torrie Jung
#290 Michael Ward
