ECHL Game Night 11/15: Lynx at Everblades

Lighting prospect forward Chris Lawrence scored his first goal of the season tonight against the Florida Everblades in Estero. Defenseman Tim Branham scored a marker just seconds into the 3rd period to draw Augusta within a goal. But goaltender Mike Brodeur, playing in back-to-back games after a spectacular performance the night before, surrendered two short-handed goals in the 3rd as the Lynx dropped their third straight game. After only putting up 3 1st period shots following a lackluster offensive output the night before, Lawrence and Matt Auffrey led the team in putting up 26 2nd and 3rd period shots. Brodeur saw 48 Everblade shots after stopping 47 the night before. Former Lightning defensive prospect Doug O'Brien failed to score on 8 shots in the two games for Everblades.

ECHL Game Night 11/14: Lynx at Everblades

Veteran ECHL goaltender Mike Brodeur stood on his head tonight, stopping 46 of 46 Florida Everblade shots through both regulation and overtime. But the punchless Lynx offense provided no support for Brodeur, and the Lynx lost the first of two games in Estero in a shootout 1-0. The Lynx only managed 16 shots through 4 periods: 2 in first, 5 in second, 5 in the third, and 4 in overtime. Lightning prospect forward Chris Lawrence was the first Lynx shooter in the shootout, but none of the Augusta shooters converted against undrafted Clarkson University product David Leggio.

ECHL Game Night 11/8: Stingrays at Lynx

The South Carolina Stingrays blanked the punchless Lynx 4-0 in an afternoon tilt at James Brown Arena. The Lynx, coming off an impressive offensive effort after losing Slattenren and Keller to the AHL, put up 25 shots but Washington Capitals 2006 2nd round rookie prospect netminder Michal Neuvirth slammed the door shut for his first professional shutout. Lighting rookie prospect goaltender Riku Helenius allowed four goals on 26 shots, while Kevin Quick was scoreless on four shots. Forward Chris Lawrence who was reassigned to Augusta from Norfolk by the Lighting earlier in the day, has not yet joined the team.
