For the year, the senior defenseman is 0-1-1 in 2 games played with a +3 rating and no penalty minutes. Maine is ranked No.7 in the latest USCHO poll.
Joe Pearce did not play in No.1 (USCHO) Boston College's 5-1 exhibition win over the U.S. Under-18 squad. BC is 1-0 on the year in non-exhibition play and Pearce did not see action in that game. However, the senior goaltender played the third period of a 5-3 exhibition win over St. Thomas (New Brunswick) on October 7. Pearce entered the game with BC leading 3-0. He stopped 6 of 9 shots and escaped with a 5-3 win. Vancouver first rounder Cory Schneider remains the No.1 in BC.
More Prospect Signings Coming?
Submitted by pete on August 1, 2005 - 17:58Erik Erlensson of the Tribune suggests the Lightning may move to sign some of their college prospects like Matt Smaby, Brady Greco and Jay Rosehill to build up their minor league depth at the position. Lightning GM Jay Feaster has made it known he thinks the NCAA ranks are too soft for his taste and hinted strongly to NHL.com a Smaby signing may be in the offing. When Andreas Holmqvist's return to Linkopings in Sweden freed up a roster spot in Springfield it all but sealed the deal that the Lightning would attempt to get Smaby to go pro.
