Former Lightning Captain Zamuner Retires/Moves Behind Bench For Mississauga

After splitting the past couple of seasons between teams in Switzerland and Australia, former Lightning captain Rob Zamuner has retired and accepted an assistant coaching position with the Mississauga Ice Dogs of the OHL. Mississauga is, of course, the club of Lightning 2005 3rd round pick Chris Lawrence who leads all Lightning junior prospects in scoring thus far this season.

Dusty Collins was scoreless with a -2 rating in Northern Michigan's 4-2 loss to Notre Dame.

The Wildcat's fall to 7-12-2 overall and 4-9-1 in the CCHA. They host Ferris State (4-12-3, 2-9-2 CCHA) this coming weekend.

Kevin Beech got the day off as Sudbury lost to Brampton 4-1.

Chris Lawrence had an assist and was +1 with 4 penalty minutes in Mississauga's 5-1 win over Windsor.

Morgan Cey stopped 33 of 35 shots faced for the win. The game was Cey's 4th start in 5 nights and he finishes the marathon stretch in Gerald Coleman's absence at 2-2-0. Doug Andress continued his strong season with a pair of goals while Dimitri Tarabrin, PJ Atherton and Andrew Martens each had a pair of helpers. The other Falcons goals were scored by Zbynek Hrdel, Brandon Elliot and Adam Henrich. Andre Deveaux and Grant Jacobsen each had individual helpers. Andress, Tarabrin and Cey were the game's three stars.

AHL Game Day 12/31: Falcons at Monarchs

The 4th game in 5 nights was an awfully tough assignment.
